Scottish Budo Association is a mixed martial arts association, open to all styles with no politics.
Founded in August 2007 by Sensei Gregory Stuart Gavin. Sensei Gavin has Dan grades in three arts and has experience of over twenty years in the martial arts. We provide support and insurance for instructors who wish to train in a non-political way.
All instructors and clubs wishing to join are vetted by the SBA. This includes contacting previous associations for grade and CRB checks.
Instructors are allowed to carry out in-house gradings up to 2 grades below their own grade. SBA will assist by sending guest panel members to clubs if required. We also hold open gradings throughout the year for Kyu and Dan grades, panel made up of SBA and guest instructors.
